A memorandum of understanding signed between Damascus University and the Italian Armadilla Organization to enhance scientific and research cooperation
Damascus (ST): The University of Damascus and the “Armadilla” organization in Italy signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of enhancing scientific, academic, research and training cooperation, encouraging the exchange of expertise and experiences, and disseminating knowledge in the field of urban and rural development.
The memorandum, which was signed by the President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, and the representative of the organization in Syria, the Regional Director for the Middle East, Giorgio Squadrani, included cooperation within the proposed projects in the field of encouraging scientific research to achieve the principles of sustainable development in the societal, educational, developmental and agricultural sector in Syria in accordance with common priorities, and conducting research and activities in the fields agreed upon within the memorandum.
The two sides also agreed to benefit from the scientific and technical expertise available to each party and implement projects and activities to serve the sustainable development of the local community in Syria and support all its groups, especially persons with disabilities.
After signing the memorandum, Dr. Al-Jabban emphasized its importance as it focuses on sustainable agricultural development, which is at the core of Damascus University’s interest and orientation towards the green economy, indicating that the memorandum will contribute to the development of joint cooperation with the organization through the implementation of joint training projects that support theoretical and applied aspects and participation in research and conferences.
