Provinces – The final qualification stage of the Arab Reading Challenge at Syria’s level kicked off on Saturday with the participation of 113 students from all over the country. The competitions will last for two days.
According to the general coordinator of the initiative in Syria Ali Al-Abbas, the competitions will be held under the supervision of a jury from the UAE. The performance of the participants will be assessed in terms of speaking method, language skills, achieving the impact of the book and applying it on society.
He said that there are 11 students with special needs among the 113 participants who reached the final stage qualifiers. Three of them will be chosen to represent Syria at the Arab level in the last stage of the initiative that will be held in the UAE next November, he added.
Abbas pointed out that the total number of students who participated in the initiative is 363,000 from all over Syria.
For his part, Minister of Education Darem Tabaa said that Syria is taking part in the Arab Reading Challenge for the second time.
On Jun 4th, 2023, the Ministry of Education issued the results of the second stage of the Arab Reading Qualifiers in its 7th edition. The competitions were held on May 28, 2023 over two days at the level of the educational areas in all the Syrian governorates.
