The initiative, which includes the maintenance of health facilities, toilets, classrooms, administrative halls, furniture and other necessities, is part of the humanitarian initiative titled: Operation “The Gallant Knight 2” which is launched by the United Arab Emirates to provide support and assistance to Syria following the earthquake on the sixth of last February.

The head of the Emirates Red Crescent delegation in Syria, Muhammad Al-Kaabi, confirmed that the maintenance work will be carried out according to the standards adopted for schools, and within a specified period to put the schools into service again by the beginning of the academic year 2023-2024.

Al-Kaabi indicated that the total value of the project within the initiative amounts to about 10 billion Syrian pounds. The initiative will contribute to spreading awareness among students and cadres to preserve schools from tampering so that they remain in good condition.

For his part, Deputy Head of the Executive Office in Lattakia Governorate, Eng. Firas Al-Sousi, pointed out that schools were selected according to priorities in cooperation with the Education Directorate, indicating that the implementation of work will be followed up on a daily basis in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent team, while adhering to technical standards and conditions.
