Syria, Belarus discuss ways to enhance cooperation

The Belarusian Minister of Education, Andrei Ivanets, discussed with the Syrian ambassador to Minsk, Muhammad Al-Omrani, ways to strengthen relations between Syria and Belarus and mechanisms for the continuation of health and recreational camps for Syrian children.
During the meeting, which was held in the building of the Belarusian Ministry of Education, Evanets affirmed that the strong relations between Syria and Belarus are based on the distinguished relationship between the leaderships of the two countries, pointing out that the purpose of these camps is to provide entertainment for the Syrian children who have suffered a lot during the years of war and to learn about the culture, history and traditions of Belarus.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Omrani expressed Syria’s great appreciation for the Belarusian humanitarian initiative towards Syrian children because of its positive effects on strengthening friendship relations between the two countries, expanding the cultural and cognitive development of Syrian children, and establishing friendly relations woth their Belarusian counterparts. He expressed hope that this humanitarian initiative will continue during the coming years.
The meeting was attended by Hussam Al-Durra, head of the delegation of the second batch of Syrian children who went to Belarus, members of the supervision delegation, and a number of children, in addition to the management of the Zobrunak recreational health camp.
