A collective  exhibition by 15 Lebanese plastic artists in Damascus

“Sit Al-Dunya” exhibition( The Lady of The World) is a collective exhibition for fifteen women artists from Lebanon which opened at People’s Hall.

The exhibition that sends a message of love and peace from Lebanon to Syria, included 46 paintings of various  sizes techniques and styles,for fifteen Lebanese artists

The artists  displayed paintings  using oil and acrylic colors  and the paintings depicted  various  topics including  women, flowers and nature which related to different artistic schools and styles such as expressionism, romanticism, impressionism and realism.

The participating artists are Amal Qamhaz, Joanna Makhoul, Rajaa Daoud, Rita Keyrouz, Rima Assi, Zainab Dandash, Abeer Salim, Lily Kazan, Lina Al-Mufti, Mona Abu Zaki, Maha Abu Shaqra, Mirvat Kurdi, Nisreen Wazir, and Dr. Nora Diban.

Artist Nisreen Wazir from Lebanon told Syria Times: ” I participated in this exhibition with three acrylic paintings.

“The second one is  roses that express the faces of people and the third expresses nature and thirst” she said.

Lily Kazan, a participating artist  from Lebanon displayed two paintings that depicted women. Women are like spring, they are our whole life.

She paints portraits. “All my paintings are about women.She is a symbol of tenderness and love” Lily said.

The second painting reflects the port of Beirut that was destroyed, but at the same time it reflects hope and optimism.

Artist Mirvat Al-Kurdi ,participated with four paintings , she used new technique in her drawings which is the art of Mandala and Tango. She aims with her participation in this event to make people acquainted with her drawings.

On her part artist Rajaa  Hakim Dawood, displayed three paintings depicting women  and social traditions. She sees that women deserve to be free from social rules.

The second painting reflects nature which is the source of comfort while the third one depicts heritage . She believes that the exhibition is a chance to gain more experience for her.
