Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Hallaq honored at the Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunis

Tunisia, (ST) – The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) honored the Syrian  Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Hallaq, during the opening of the activities of the Arab Radio and Television Festival in its 23rd session, which is currently being held in Tunisia, under the title “Arts and Culture Bring Us Together.

The festival, which is held in the city of culture, Shazly Al-Kalibi in Tunisia in cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Culture, the Tunisian radio and television institutions, and the Arab Satellite Communications Organization “Arabsat”, aims to monitor innovative trends in Arab radio and television production and encourage them in order to develop Arab creative energies in this field. The event continues until the 15th of this month.

The opening ceremony of festival included a musical evening presented by the Tunisian musician; Mohamed Ali Kammoun entitled “Arab Perfumes”.

The festival also honored Abdel Aziz Kassem, former director general of Tunisian radio and television, Enas Gohar, former head of Egyptian radio, Hani Farrag, former head of the Administrative and Legal Committee of the Arab States Broadcasting Union, Inas Yaqoub, a television and film director from Bahrain, Al-Mounsif Al-Baldi, a Tunisian director and actor, and Taqi Al-Din Soubira, a multi-talented artist from Comoros.

Among the festival’s guests of honor are actress Sherine from Egypt, artists Milad Youssef and Rawa Al Saadi from Syria, George Khabbaz, actor from Lebanon, artist Fatima Al Hosani from the United Arab Emirates, artist Hassan Qarfal, director and actor from Libya, in addition to Sanaa Akroud, actress and director from Morocco.

Representatives of the union’s member bodies with specialization in the fields of directing, producing and preparing programmes, representatives of private Arab production companies, news agencies, foreign Arabic-speaking radio and television stations, as well as representatives of private radio and television networks and international radio and television unions, also participate in the festival.

The Syrian General Authority for Radio and Television, the General Corporation for Radio and Television Production and the Syrian drama production companies will participate in the exhibition, which is being held within the activities of the festival.

The festival’s activities include holding television and radio competitions.
