Dr. Shaaban said that the relations with the Sultanate of Oman are historical, and it is important and necessary to benefit from the expertise of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information.

Dr. Shaaban explained that the Wathiqat Watan Foundation’s goal is to achieve a digital archive from which information can be extracted in several ways, to publish information and make it available to all those interested in the country’s history and to document what really happened in Syria to confront misleading Western media propaganda that falsifies facts and to help future generations understand what happened in Syria.

Dr. Shaaban said: “The war on Syria has targeted its cultural, identity and belonging, and what the Wathiqat Watan aspires to do is to strengthen belonging in Syria and in the Arab world, strengthen belonging to the Arabic language, and expose Western misleading campaigns.”

In turn, Dr. Al-Harassi stressed the importance of the work carried out by the Foundation in documenting and clarifying the truth about what happened in Syria.

He pointed to the need to keep pace with the current digital environment, and to reach the best methods of preserving and benefiting from information.
