Tunisian poet Mohamed Hisham Khleifi to SANA: What happened in Syria is a wound in the heart of history

The Tunisian poet Mohamed Hisham Khleifi has  real talent, through his sense and feeling of reality, which he artistically forms through poetry, adding to it what his imagination sees of images and aesthetics that convince the recipient and move his feelings, in addition to what he writes of systematic research in the affairs of culture and literature.

In an interview with SANA News Agency, Khulaifi said:” I write the rhythmical poetry “Al-Khalili” because, in my opinion, it is the real poetry in the era of poetry, and it requires great ability, as it depicts the real feeling”.

He added :” This does not mean that I am against poetry, that doesn’t rhyme  and that I do not say free poetry, for the freedom of poetry was defined by literature ten centuries ago, and I have many and varied experiences in this field”.

Khulaifi said, “I write poetry when the heart presents me with speaking images that resulted from fierce battles that took place in my spiritual heart, whether those battles were between good and evil, between truth and falsehood, between love and hate, connection and abandonment, or between benevolence and abuse.” His feelings are what affected the living feeling and the situations that arise from the repercussions and transformations of humanity”.

While also the poet Khulaifi stressed that what happened in Syria was a wound in the heart of ancient and contemporary history, and said:

“I have been living in exile for more than thirty years, and I have lived with all Arabs and non-Arabs, and I have not seen any parallel to the kindness, honesty and compassion of the Syrian people, showing that what happened in Syria is an unrighteous deed that is stripped of the most basic human values”.

Khulaifi believed that the poetry presented something about what happened in Syria, because the wound is deep and what happened was a huge sinkhole that swallowed mercy and pity, and stripped the bearers of the destructive weapon equipped with the fatwa of the colored takfir sheikhs of everything that entails under the word humanity, pointing out that some Arab and Syrian poets have presented a lot, Some of them gave little while others did nothing.

In his speech, the researcher and poet Khulaifi stated that he writes the research to confront what is broadcasted on social media pages and forums and some “scandalous” channels, from which people take what they hear without verifying and seeing the credibility of the information, pointing out that many young people have been deceived because of their belief in everything they hear, and because they lack the foundations of research and methods of inferring facts, events, and historical periods of nations and men.

Khulaifi concluded by saying: “Some of the writers of our time do not know how to choose the topic well, so you see someone whose country suffers from wars writing about his pain because of the abandonment of his sweetheart, and writes about the treachery of a friend and writes about the disobedience of children to parents, and I do not think that such issues serve the country that is fighting a war against those who have lost their sense of shyness and have been blinded from their sight, while they are thrashing at random like a woodcutter at night who may catch a snake while thinking it is a rope.

It is noteworthy that the poet Muhammad Hisham Khleifi was born in Tunisia in 1958, studied Arabic literature and Sharia sciences. Among his books are “Ray of the Spirit”, “Flash of Thought” and “Passion of the Heart”, most of them talk about Syria and the plot it was exposed to and the sacrifices it made to preserve the dignity of the Arabs, especially in the face of what he called “The Western Spring” ISIS driven , while he also has in the research the means of coalition in matters of difference, working to expose falsehood and forgery and the need to deal with the true Islam.
