China’s Foreign Ministry announced today that it has summoned the South Korean ambassador to file a complaint about Seoul’s criticism of comments made by Beijing’s ambassador to South Korea recently.
Reuters News Agency quoted the Chinese Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement: The Chinese Foreign Minister Assistant Nong Rong summoned the South Korean ambassador, and expressed his great concern and dissatisfaction with Seoul’s inappropriate reaction to the Chinese ambassador’s comments that he made during a meeting with the leader of an opposition party in South Korea.
Last Friday, South Korea summoned the Chinese ambassador to inform him of its protest, while the Chinese ambassador warned Seoul against making “wrong bets” in the dispute between China and the United States.
