150 local and international trade marks within the activities of the Information and Communication Technology Exhibition

With the participation of 150 local and international trade marks, the activities of the ninth session of the Information and Communication Technology Exhibition “HITEC” kicked off on Wednesday the 7th of June 2023. The exhibition is organized by the Arab Group for Exhibitions in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Technology, on the grounds of the new exhibition city in the countryside of Damascus.
The Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, pointed out the importance of the exhibition, in terms of spreading the culture of communication and information through which Syria is keen to keep abreast of the latest developments. The Minister indicated that what distinguishes the exhibition is the remarkable participation of the young generation through their projects and innovations that come with the services of other companies within the framework of the process of digital transformation, pointing to the development witnessed by the exhibition in terms of products and services provided, modern equipment, and the increase in the number of local and international participation.
The General Manager of the Arab Group for Exhibitions organizing the exhibition, Alaa Hilal, explained that the exhibition represents an important information forum that presents the latest and most important solutions, systems and software for computer and smartphone applications as well as the technologies used in the field of informatics, smart cities, e-government and electronic payment. The exhibition provides an opportunity for research and development centers to display their products and opens the way for the software, equipment, information technology and the Internet both locally and regionally.
Wafa Telecom Executive Director Ghassan Saba stated that the company is exhibiting within its pavilion the first test of the fifth generation technology “5G”, which is one of the latest global communications technologies. Saba explained that the company is seeking to establish several partnerships that reflect positively on the telecommunications sector.
The exhibition, which lasts until the eleventh of this month, June 2023 hosts 75 pavilions which open their doors to visitors on a daily basis from five in the afternoon until eleven with free transportation for visitors.
