Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission condemns the occupation’s attack on released prisoner Zahran

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Commission for Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has condemned the brutal attack by the Israeli occupation forces on the released prisoner, Muhammad Tayseer Zahran, during his recent re-detention in the West Bank, which resulted in fractures in his skull bone.

In a statement reported by Wafa News Agency, the commission stated that this barbaric attack on the prisoner Zahran, 41, falls within a gradual killing policy that exposes the occupation system and its targeting of the freed prisoners. It added that Zahran was beaten all over his body with rifle butts, while he was handcuffed and blindfolded after storming his house in the town of Deir Abu Meshaal northwest of Ramallah, and after his redetention, which led him to lose consciousness for long hours.

The Commission stressed that this serious attack on the prisoner Zahran requires human rights and humanitarian institutions to put pressure on the occupation to stop chasing up and detaining him, as he is currently undergoing treatment as a result of four fractures in his bones.

On the other hand, the Commission warned of the worsening health condition of the prisoner, Falah Shehadeh, who has been detained by the occupation authorities since 2004 and who was sentenced to 27 years in prison.

It said: The prisoner Shehadeh suffers from very severe pain in the abdominal area, as a result of the policy of intentional medical negligence, which the occupation continues to follow against hundreds of prisoners inside its detention centers.
