A Russian delegation visits Hanania Church and the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus
Damascus, (ST) – A Russian delegation from the Union of Orthodox Women visited on Wednesday the ancient Church of St. Hanania and the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus.
The delegation listened to a detailed explanation of the historical stages of the church and the mosque, the historical periods that passed through them, and the damages that the Umayyad Mosque suffered from as a result of terrorism.
The guest delegation expressed its admiration over the features included in the church and the mosque that summarize the history of the Syrian civilization, and the harmony of the Syrian people with all its components.
It is noteworthy that the guest delegation visited the monastery of Our Lady of Saydnaya yesterday, and provided food and school aid to the children of the monastery’s orphanage.
