Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority calls on international community to pressure Israel to release the detainee Walid Daqq

Occupied Al- Quds, (ST)- The Commission for Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has renewed its call on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to release the cancer-stricken prisoner Walid Daqqa in order to provide medical treatment to him in a hospital in the occupied West Bank.

According to Wafa News Agency, the Commission on Tuesday warned that Walid’s health condition is serious, as he needs a spinal cord transplant.

The commission indicated that his brothers and sisters, in addition to the prisoner Zakaria Al-Zubaidi, confirmed their willingness to donate to him, but the occupation authorities ignored the matter and did nothing, as it became clear that they aimed to execute him. The same happened with other sick prisoners.

The authority indicated that Walid’s health deteriorated due to the spread of cancer to the lungs, as he became unable to breathe, especially after the removal of part of his right lung. He is currently living on oxygen and artificial respiration, and he needs close monitoring of his health condition to save his life.
