Syria takes part in the 119th session of ALECSO’s Executive Board

Tunis – Activities of the 119th ordinary session of the Executive Board of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) kicked off on Saturday in Tunis with the participation of Syria.

The 2-day event aims at enhancing joint Arab educational, cultural and scientific action and at strengthening the relations between the organization’s member states.

Syria’s delegation is represented by Dr. Nidal Hasan, member of the executive board.

Participants in the session discussed issues relating to the city of Al-Quds and the dangers threatening its status, in addition to the educational, cultural and scientific situation in occupied Palestine. They also discussed the reports of the international conference on the future of education, culture and science organizations in 21st century as well as mans of preparing the draft of the strategic plan for partnerships.

Ways to diversify the sources of self-funding of the organization were also discussed.

Discussion also covered the report on preparing a draft plan for enhancing the role of the media and promotion aspect in the organization and the Saudi suggestion on launching the ALECSO Businesses and Partnerships Forum.
