Damascus – Syria on Saturday expressed its deep sorrow and sadness over the human losses that were resulted from the collision of several trains in the Indian state of Odisha, according to the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
In a statement, the ministry voiced solidarity with the friendly country of India, as government and people, over this tragic incident that claimed the lives of hundreds of people and injured hundreds others, wishing speedy recovery to the injured.
According to BBC News, at least 261 people have been killed and 1,000 are injured in a crash involving three trains in India’s eastern Odisha state.
One passenger train derailed on to the adjacent track and was struck by an incoming train on Friday, also hitting a nearby stationary freight train.
