Pushilin: The United States has supported and funded mercenaries in Ukraine, as well as terrorists in Syria

Moscow (ST): Acting President of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin confirmed that the United States supported mercenaries in Ukraine by all available means in order to weaken Russia, noting that Washington previously pursued this policy in Syria as well.

Pushilin said in a statement to news correspondent in Moscow today: “What is happening in Ukraine is no different from what happened in Syria, where the Western security services, led by the United States, have been active in bringing in terrorists and mercenaries and supporting them with money and weapons, to fight the legitimate government in Syria, and this is what is happening now against Russia in Ukraine.”

Pushilin explained that: “The attitude of the people in Donbas towards the American practices in Ukraine is very negative, and the United States is considered a direct partner in the aggressive crimes committed by the armed formations of the Ukrainian regime in Donbas.”

In her turn, a member of the International Relations Committee, representative of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the Federation Council of the Russian Parliament, Natalia Mikhnorova, said in a statement: “The terrorist war against Syria was supported by Western regimes led by the United States, and these are the mechanisms used by the American security services in fighting legitimate governments.”

“We see the efforts of the Syrian people and their struggles, led by President Bashar al-Assad, that have achieved victory over international terrorism,” noting that the successes achieved by Syria at the diplomatic level indicate that adhering to firm principled positions will inevitably lead to the victory of truth, no matter how long it takes.
