President Al-Assad on Thursday granted the Algerian Ambassador Lahsan Tuhami the Syrian order of Merit of Excellent degree in recognition of his efforts in strengthening the Syria-Algerian ties.
The order was awarded to Tuhami by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad during a farwell ceremony held marking the end of the ambassador’s mission in Syria.
Al- Mikdad described the historic relations between Syria and Algeria as deep and strong, pointing out that the two countries cooperate with each other against terrorism and they have offered martyrs in defense of their independence and sovereignty.
For his part, Tuhami thanked President Al-Assad for honoring him and hailed the Syrian Foreign Ministry’s cooperation that helped him complete his mission successfully.
He affirmed his country’s keenness on boosting historic ties with Syria.
