Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Dozens of Palestinians participated in a stand in the city of Ramla in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948 in support of the cancer-stricken prisoner Walid Daqqa. They called on the Israeli occupation authorities to release him in order to receive the necessary medical treatment.
Wafa News Agency reported that the participants in the stand called for by Al-Assir’s family and the National Captive Movement in front of Al-Ramle detention center held banners calling for Daqqa’s release, saying “Freedom for Walid Daqqa” and “Walid’s right to receive treatment.”
Israeli settlers assaulted the participants in the stand, and shouted insults and racist expressions at them.
It is noteworthy that the prisoner, Daqqa, who suffers from spinal cord cancer, comes from the town of Baqa al-Gharbia, located in the Triangle region of the occupied territories in 1948.
The occupation forces arrested Daqqa on March 25, 1986, and despite the severe deterioration in his health, they still refuse to release him.
