The Cabinet discusses improving the living situation and the reality of salaries, and continuing steps to restructure subsidies
Damascus (ST): The most prominent axes raised during the weekly cabinet session, headed by Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous, was improving the living situation and the reality of salaries and wages for state workers and retirees, and continuing the steps to restructure support to ensure that it reaches the actual beneficiaries and directs it towards the most needy groups in society. The cabinet also discussed increasing the support portfolio provided to the health, education, social care and other priority sectors, and the necessary procedures and steps.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of proposed scenarios to deal with the file of subsidized supplies and the reality of oil derivatives and reduce the increase in the deficit in the state’s general budget, in parallel with measures to improve the living conditions of workers.
Engineer Arnous underlined the importance of activating the provisions of Law No. 8 on exempting the process of importing cows for the purpose of breeding from fees and taxes, in a way that encourages the establishment of projects to raise cows, improve the status of livestock, restore the herd, and secure cow products in sufficient quantities in the local markets.
The Prime Minister underlined the importance of continuous follow-up to the process of receiving the wheat crop from farmers in all approved centers in the governorates on the ground, stressing that the concerned authorities take all preparations to deal with any fires that may occur in agricultural areas, distribute mechanisms in a way that covers various regions, and secure agricultural roads.
Engineer Arnous reaffirmed the emphasis on all ministries to prioritize spending to complete projects that have reached high implementation rates and that achieve economic feasibility and contribute to improving the level of services directly.
