A contract for the rehabilitation, restoration and investment of Badia Al-Sham Hotel in Deir Ezzor signed at a cost exceeding 10 billion pounds
Damascus (ST): Within the framework of the governmental efforts to reactivate the tourism sector and investment facilities, a contract was signed at the Ministry of Tourism for the rehabilitation, restoration and investment of Badia Al-Sham Hotel in Deir Ezzor Governorate between the owner (the Syrian Arab Company for Facilities) and the investing parties, represented by the Syrian Company for Transportation and Tourism, and the Syrian Company of Arabian Hotels and Tourism, and the National Oil Services Corporation.
The total area of Badia Al-Sham Hotel is 18,000 square meters, and it includes 48 rooms and 5 suites, and 3 “bungalows” blocks comprising 8 rooms and 8 apartments, 3 feeding points, a swimming pool, and a multi-use hall, while the investment cost of the project exceeded 10 billion Syrian pounds.
In a statement to news reporter following the signing of the contract, the Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohammad Rami Martini, confirmed that the government is continuing to make efforts to return the tourism sector to its splendor, and to activate tourism investments, indicating the importance of this project because it represents a developmental message within the file of reconstruction in Deir Ezzor governorate after the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab army in it.
Minister Martini indicated that the project provides more than 200 job opportunities during construction, and 200 job opportunities upon start-up for graduates of tourism and hotel education in the governorates of Deir Ezzor and Hasakeh, and it will be put into service after the maintenance of equipment and cladding during the current year.
The General Manager of the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism, Eng. Fayez Mansour stated that the Badia Al-Sham Hotel project is one of the many projects of the company that seeks to be present in various regions in Syria, pointing out that the investment period of the project is 22 years.
