A memorandum of understanding to support investment in the field of digital transformation and e-commerce in Syria

The Syrian Investment Authority and the regional office of the Arab Federation for Electronic Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of developing the capabilities of companies, institutions and government agencies in the field of digital transformation and e-commerce at the local, regional and international levels.
According to the memorandum, signed in the building of the Syrian Investment Authority, the Director General of the Authority Madian Diab and the Executive Director of the Regional Office Ihab Abu Al-Shamat reviewed the relationship and work mechanisms between the two sides in order to benefit from the experiences and capabilities of the Union in a way that contributes to digital transformation through policies and applications related to digital transformation.
According to the memorandum, the authority provides support and guidance in the field of research and economic feasibility studies for projects and investment opportunities.
Dr. Muhammad Pharaon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation for Electronic Commerce, said: Through this memorandum, work will be done to overcome difficulties and accelerate the process of digital transformation in order to attract investments, pointing to the need to coordinate with the government to develop legislations so as to develop work in this field.
The Arab Federation for Electronic Commerce launched the work of its regional office in Syria last June, as part of the activities of the exhibition for communications and technology, which was held on the Damascus Fairgrounds.
