Yesterday, a documentary film about the archaeological and tourist attractions in the city of Palmyra was completed by the official China Channel. The destruction of historical sites by the terrorist organization “ISIS” was documented in the film.
Ni Zi Hui, the reporter and producer of the film who also interviewed some specialists in tourism and archaeological affairs, said in a statement to a SANA reporter: “The aim of producing this film is to show the beauty of the city of Palmyra in order to introduce the Chinese people to the importance of this marvelous city, which was an important commercial and cultural center on the international silk road”. The film focused on the ancient temples, the ancient theatre, the baths of Queen Zenobia, the Colonnaded Street and the impressive architectural buildings dating back more than two thousand years, she added.
“Hui” praised the archaeological site of this city, which remained steadfast despite the terrorists’ attempt to sabotage its cultural heritage. Hui called on international institutions and organizations to assist in the reconstruction of these historical edifices, which belong to all humanity.
