Havana (ST): The activities of the annual meeting of the General Council of the International Democratic Youth Union began in the Cuban capital, Havana, with the participation of the National Union of Students and the Revolutionary Youth Union in Syria, in addition to Arab and foreign organizations that are members of the Council.
The Syrian delegation participated in the opening ceremony with a folklore song, and the students organized a special pavilion for Syrian folklore at the Ilam University of Medicine. The meeting will continue until the twenty-eighth of this month.
The Syrian delegation includes Imad Al-Omar and Youssef Shaheen, members of the executive office of the National Union of Syrian Students, Qassem Al-Shaghouri, member of the executive office of the Revolutionary Youth Union, and Orwa Mahmoud, head of the Cuba branch of the Student Union.
The International Democratic Youth Federation is a global youth organization founded in 1945 and includes more than 200 anti-imperialist youth organizations from around the world.
