During the visit to the International Conference on Arab Publishing and Creative Industries held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, the Syrian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, was briefed on the latest trends in the field of publishing and Arabic content, which constituted an effective platform to facilitate dialogue between publishers, content makers, and thought leaders.

Abbas also met at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi International Center for the Arabic Language, and some of the exhibition organizers.

Abbas visited the 80 Syrian publishers participating in the conference and exchanged with them the mechanism of increasing Syrian participation in international exhibitions, in addition to discussing the difficulties they face.

In a statement to news reporter, Haitham Al-Hafez, Head of the Publishers Union in Syria, said: This exhibition is considered the largest cultural event in the region and is accompanied by many cultural and literary events held for this year’s session.

Al-Hafez indicated that Syria participates in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair through 80 publishers, in all arts and forms of knowledge, children’s books, heritage, scientific and academic books, pointing out that the Syrian participation also included cultural activities through the signing of a number of books produced in Syria and various practical workshops.

Al-Hafez indicated that the exhibition was preceded by a conference for Arab publishers calling for the development of the publishing profession in the Arab world, in the presence of a good number of Syrian publishers.
