Al-Halqi confers with Shamkhani

Tehran,(ST)- Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi met on Saturday with Secretary General of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.

 said on Saturday that Syrian-Syrian dialogue is the best means to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

During the meeting, al-Halqi briefed Shamkhani on the latest developments in Syria and appreciated Iran’s humanitarian assistance to the Syrian nation.

The prime minister said that the Syrian government is determined to resolve the crisis through dialogue, adding that diplomatic means is the sole path to achieve peace and stability in the country.

Shamkhani ,for his part said that the regional countries and the world have come to understand Iran’s sincerity calling for Syrian-Syrian dialogue, according to IRNA.

Shamkhani said that the Syrian nation must decide their own fate as an inevitable necessity, adding that certain countries attempted to impose their will on Syria and ignore the Syrian national aspirations.

Shamkhani referred to Iran’s diplomatic success in nuclear talks with 5+1 Group in Geneva, and said that resistance and concerted efforts prompted the opponents of Iranian progress and economic development to respect and accept the inalienable and legal rights.
