Tabbaa meets with the delegation of the European Front for Defending Syria

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Education Darem Tabbaa met on Wednesday with the delegation of the European Front for Defending Syria and the Italian Casa Pound Party at the Ministry’s building in Damascus.

During the meeting, Tabbaa stressed the importance of the role played by the delegation in defending Syria and conveying the true civilized image about it to Europe. He pointed out that the delegation’s visit is an affirmation of the role of peoples in promoting communication between cultures.

Tabaa stressed that Syria is working through its curricula to develop the skills of its students and enhance their values, especially with regard to respect for others’ opinion and cultural diversity. He indicated the importance of exchanging experiences and youth delegations and boosting educational cooperation.

For his part, the head of the Italian delegation, Gian Luca Iannone, Head of the Casa Pound Party, pointed out that the visit aims to provide support for and solidarity with Syria, and to strengthen the Syrian-Italian rapproachment. He indicated that the delegation’s visits didn’t stop during the war on Syria.

Iannone noted the importance of strengthening educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries. He stressed the need to exchange educational experiences and youth delegations, and to work as to break the siege on Syria.

He affirmed the need to focus on work in the coming period to confront the economic blockade imposed on the Syrian people, pointing out that a set of activities and seminars will be held in support for Syria, including the establishment of an activity in Italy, raising slogans demanding the lifting of coercive sanctions on the Syrian people in 150 Italian cities and documenting this activity in the media.
