Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – During a solidarity stand on Wednesday, dozens of Palestinians in the city of Nablus in the West Bank called on the international community to put pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities as to immediately release the detainees and hand over the bodies of the martyrs to their families.
Wafa News Agency stated that the participants in the stand, that was organized by the Palestinian National Forces and the Supreme National Committee for Prisoners Support, raised Palestinian flags and banners condemning the occupation’s systematic violations and policy of deliberate medical negligance against the Palestinian detainees.
The coordinator of the National Committee for Prisoner Support in Nablus Muzaffar Thouqan affirmed that the detainees suffer from harsh and inhuman conditions in the detention centers, as they are daily subjected to beating, abuse, oppression, psychological and physical torture, solitary confinement, the prevention of visits, the prevention of healthcare and delaying medical treatment that caused the spread of diseases among them.
Thouqan indicated that the occupation detention centers lack the minimum necessities of life, which flagrantly violates humanitarian laws and principles. He called on international human rights institutions and bodies to pressure the occupation to stop its brutal violations against prisoners, especially children, women, and the sick, and to hand over the bodies of the martyrs they are still holding.
