Syria and Iran discuss trade and investment cooperation

The Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Shafiq Dayyoub has discussed today with the chairman of the Iranian-Syrian People’s Friendship Association and the Chairman of the Palestine Support Committee in the Iranian Presidency Muhammad Hasan Akhtari ways to enhance cooperation between Syria and Iran in all fields, especially the economic one.

During the meeting, Ambassador Dayyoub pointed to the importance of the recent visit and the meetings held by Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi with President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus in opening broad prospects for cooperation between the two countries, pointing out that the Syrian-Iranian relations are a role model and have a long history.

Dayyoub stressed the importance of increasing and expanding joint and mutual projects and investments between the two countries in all sectors, in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples and the two friendly countries, noting that the cooperation of Syria and Iran during the past four decades paved the way for the important transformations that the region and the world are witnessing at this stage.

In turn, Akhtari stressed the necessity of deepening and expanding the circle of relations between Syria and Iran, especially the economic and commercial ones, through the establishment of joint mutual exhibitions and the implementation of strategic projects that advance the economy of both countries.

Akhtari pointed out that the regional developments the world is witnessing today are a source of disturbance to the Zionist entity, stressing the importance of the strategic role played by Syria in the region, and the importance of preserving and strengthening the strategic relations between Syria and Iran in all fields.
