The festivities include five Arab performances over several days where the first day will be for the Emirati show “Once Upon a Time” by the Daba Al-Hisn Association for Culture, Heritage and Theater.
On the second day, the audience will watch the Syrian show “The Circus” presented by the “National Theater” group, written by Azwaldo Dracón, prepared and directed by Ayman Zaidan, and Hazem Zaidan. Lama Abdul Kareem will also participate in the show.
On the third day, the Egyptian show “The Window” will be presented by the Meshwar Theater Group, and on the fourth day, the Multaqa Al-Dhilal “Junction of shadows” Group from Jordan will present the play “Natural View”, and on the last day, there will be a theatrical performance by the Kuwaiti theater group under the title “The Transparent”.
The parallel program of the festival is full of many activities, most notably the eighteenth edition of the Sharjah Forum for Arab Theatre, which is organized under the title of “Theatre and Music”, with the participation of a group of Arab researchers and playwrights, including Maestro Raad Khalaf.
It is noteworthy that the Dibba Al-Hisn for dual Theater Festival was established in 2016, within the framework of the Department of Culture’s strategy aimed at spreading and diversifying theatrical activity in the Emirates in order to extend and strengthen bridges of communication so as to exchange knowledge between local playwrights and their counterparts in the Arab world.
