Tehran, (ST) _ with the aim of cementing cooperation and coordination between Syria and Iran,Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi on Friday arrived in Tehran’s Mehrabad International airport, leading an official delegation to hold talks with top Iranian officials .
Speaking to reporters upon arrival in Tehran, al-Halqi said the Syrian delegation’s visit falls within the framework of boosting mutual cooperation and coordination at economic, scientific, trade, health and development levels, broadening their prospects ,revamping the inked agreements between the two sides ,signing fresh agreements ,securing the basic needs for the Syrian citizen and opening new channels for cooperation.
Al-Halqi congratulated Iranian people on its big success and historical achievement in arriving at accord with the six powers and said it marks beginning to Syrian people’s triumph.
“the great achievements realized by Iran and Syria have made laws, charters and international legitimacy to be taken into account .These achievements have come thanks to the solid and deep-rooted historic and strategic ties between the two s countries ,whose foundations have been laid by Imam Khomeini and the late President Hafez Al-Assad and are growing deeper under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad and Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.
Al-Halqi, along with the official delegation, were welcomed by Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossain Amir Abdollahian.

For his part, Abdollahian told reporters that the Key to success of Geneva 2 will be to avoid supporting certain parties that help entry of terrorists and arms to Syria.
He underlined that the Syrian delegation’s visit is of high importance and will help diplomatically settle the crisis in Syria ,while guaranteeing regional peace ,stability and security.
“the viewpoints will be obtained through consultation with friends in the region and direct talks with Syria and within this framework we can reach a common strategy.
