Prisoners Affairs Authority warns of the deteriorating health condition of prisoner Walid Daqqa in the occupation jails
Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Authority of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs has warned that the Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa, who suffers from cancer, is in a very critical health condition, and could be died at any moment in the Israeli occupation detention centers.
WAFA News Agency quoted the authority as saying on Monday in a statement: The prisoner’s health condition is deteriorating rapidly and dangerously as a result of the policy of deliberate medical negligence against the prisoners, and he needs intensive health care due to a rare cancer in the bone marrow.
The authority referred that last month, Daqqa underwent an operation to remove part of his right lung, and he suffers from inflammation and infection in his left lung, in addition to general fatigue, weight loss and inability to speak well.
Daqqa, 60, from the town of Baqa al-Gharbia in the occupied territories in 1948, has been detained by the occupation for 38 years. He is considered as one of the most prominent prisoners who participated in many struggle initiatives of the captive national movement.
Last month, the family of the prisoner, Daqqa, appealed to international human rights and humanitarian institutions to urgently intervene to pressure the occupation authorities to release him in the light of the serious deterioration of his health.
