Minister of Health meets with his Iraqi, Jordanian, Algeria and Emirati counterparts in Geneva to discuss means of enhancing cooperation

Geneva, (ST) – On the sidelines of the meeting of the 59th regular session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, which is being held in Geneva, Minister of Health Hassan Al-Ghabbash met with the Iraqi Minister of Health Saleh Al-Hasnawi, the Jordanian Minister of Health  Firas Al-Hawari and the Emirati Minister of Health and Prevention Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais and Algerian Health Minister and Chairman of the 59th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health Abdelhak Sayhi.

Dr. Al-Ghabbash discussed with his counterparts the current situation of the health sector in the world, as well as many other health issues, most notably the mechanisms for exchanging experiences, training, investment prospects and pharmaceutical industries. Strengthening bilateral cooperation between Syria and Iraq, Jordan, Algeria and the UAE to improve the health services provided to patients were also discussed.

It is noteworthy that the meeting of the 59th regular session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health was held yesterday in conjunction with the work of the 76th session of the meeting of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.

Last night Dr. Al-Ghabash met with his Algerian counterpart Abdelhak Sayhi.

Sayhi said: “Syria’s participation in the Arab League is the product and fruit of the relentless efforts made by Algeria, headed by the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has repeatedly affirmed that Syria is a founding member of the Arab League, and it cannot be isolated from its Arab surroundings.

For his part, Minister Al-Ghabash drew attention to the strength of the historical relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples
