Jeddah Declaration underlines the importance of intensifying Arab efforts aimed at helping Syria overcome its crisis

Jeddah (ST): The Arab Summit in its thirty-second session concluded deliberations this afternoon by adopting the Jeddah Declaration which welcomed the decision issued by the League Council meeting at the ministerial level, which included the resumption of the participation of the Syrian government delegations in the meetings of the League Council and its affiliated organizations and agencies. It expressed hope that this return will contribute to supporting the stability of the Syrian Arab Republic and preserving its territorial integrity and resuming its natural role in the Arab world.

The Declaration underlined the importance of continuing and intensifying Arab efforts aimed at helping Syria overcome its crisis in line with the common Arab interest and the fraternal relations that unite all Arab peoples.

The Declaration affirmed that sustainable development, security, stability and living in peace are inherent rights of the Arab citizen, and this will only be achieved through concerted and integrated efforts.

It expressed commitment and pride in Arab values and culture based on dialogue, tolerance, openness and non-interference in the affairs of others under any pretext.

The Declaration also expressed appreciation for the keenness and interest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in everything that would provide the appropriate conditions for achieving stability and economic growth in the region, especially with regard to sustainable development, and its work on a number of initiatives that would contribute to advancing joint Arab action in the cultural, economic, social and environmental fields.
