President Bashar Al-Assad arrives in Jeddah to take part in the 32nd Arab Summit

President Bashar Al-Assad on Thurday arrived in Jeddah to take part in the 32nd Arab Summit due to be held tomorrow.

President Al-Assad was welcomed at at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah by Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Province, Ahmed Aboul Geit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Saleh bin Ali Al-Turki Secretary of the Jeddah Governorate, Major General, Saleh Al-Jabri, the Director of the Police of Makkah Province and Fahd Al-Sahil, the Undersecretary of Royal Protocols.

On May 10, President Al-Assad received an invitation from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, to participate in the Arab summit.

The invitation was conveyed to President Al-Assad by Nayef Al-Sudairi, the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan.

President Al-Assad asked Al-Sudairi to convey his greetings to King Salman, stressing that the upcoming Arab summit in Saudi Arabia will enhance joint Arab action to achieve the aspirations of the Arab people.

It is likely that President Al-Assad will meet this evening and tomorrow morning a number of leaders in bilateral meetings at the residence before heading to the summit. He will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Soussan, Political Adviser Bouthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser Luna Al-Shibel and the Permanent Representative of Syria to the Security Council, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh.

Presidents, leaders and kings of Arab countries began this morning to arrive in the city of Jeddah to participate in the Arab summit scheduled to be held tomorrow.
