The Israeli occupation turns Al-Quds into a military barracks as hundreds of settlers storm into Al-Aqsa Mosque

On May 18th, the Israeli occupation forces changed the occupied city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) into a military barracks, and deployed more than three thousand soldiers in it, to secure settlers’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Old City, and several neighborhoods in Al-Quds.

Palestinian media reported that since early morning today, more than 500 settlers, including Itzhak Wasserlev, the minister in the occupation government, and members of the Knesset, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi Gate direction, and carried out provocative tours in its courtyards, under the heavy security measures by the occupation forces.

The occupation forces closed the Al-Qibli prayer hall after forcing the Palestinian worshipers to leave from it, and intensified their presence in the courtyards of the mosque to secure the settlers’ incursions.

The occupation forces tightened their military measures in Al-Quds, preventing young men from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform the dawn prayer, and forcibly removed dozens of Palestinians and journalists from the vicinity of Bab Al-Silsilah, and brutally assaulted young men in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa and those stationed near Bab Al-Silsilah.
