Minsk (ST) – On Wednesday, the International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery, MILEX-2023, and the International Academic Conference on the Issues of Military and Technical Cooperation opened in Belarus’ capital Minsk in the presence of delegations from more than 30 countries, including Syria.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, affirmed that this exhibition has proven over the years that it is not only an important event for organizations in the defense sector of the economy, but also represents an effective forum for developing military and military-technical cooperation between countries and international organizations.

He stressed that the exhibition presents the most advanced models of weaponry and military equipment, in addition to reliable weapons that were developed in the middle of the twentieth century.

Khrenin noted the remarkable international presence of delegations that attended the exhibition and conference, considering that this indicated that Belarus has many allies, partners and like-minded people from different continents.

Syria will be represented in the exhibition and conference, which will last until the 20th of this month, by Syria’s ambassador in Minsk Muhammad al-Amrani.
