Five trucks carrying ten caravans arrive at Nassib border Center from Jordan bound to people affected by earthquake in Syria

Daraa (ST) – Five trucks with 10 caravans, provided by the Jordanian people and the “Muslims around the World” association, in coordination with the Syrian embassy in Jordan, arrived at basibe border Center bound for people affected by the earthquake in Syria. The shipment was received by the Syria Trust for Development.

Director of the Nassib al-Hedudi Center, Engineer Shadi Abazid, indicated that the caravans are fully equipped for direct housing, especially in terms of furniture and household needs.

Secretary of Nassib Customs, Ahmed Al-Basha, stressed that all necessary facilities have been provided, and all procedures for trucks entry have been simplified.

For his part, media spokesman for the “Muslims Around the World” association, Zaid Al-Shanti, stated that these trucks are the first batch and they will be followed by other batches of 50 caravans, which will arrive on stages through Nassib border center. He added that the association is also seeking to participate in the restoration of homes and schools damaged by the earthquake in Syria.

Moreover, a Russian humanitarian aid shipment carrying 11 tons of aid arrived at Lattakia governorate on Tuesday. The aid was provided by the Volgograd Regional Association for the Development of the Russian Friendship House, in partnership with the Palestinian Orthodox Christian Imperial Society to be distributed to those affected by the earthquake in Syria.

Advisor to the head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities, Kazbek Farnev, stated that: the Russian humanitarian aid continues and will not stop. This shipment includes foodstuffs and relief materials and they were unloaded in a warehouse in the port of Lattakia, he added, noting that part of this aid was delivered directly to Al-Areen Humanitarian Foundation for distribution to those affected by the earthquake, who are in the shelter center in Al-Assad Sports City.

Head of the Cultural Association in Volgograd, Manan Abdul, expressed his pleasure to participate in supporting the Syrian people.
