Agence France-Presse quoted Maduro as saying today on a television program: We withdrew from the Organization of American States forever, and we do not plan to return, stressing the need to get rid of this organization.
Maduro added, “Our path is towards the Union of Nations of South American Nations UNASUR and toward the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States CELAC, in addition to the path of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of America ALBA.
In April 2019, Venezuela announced its withdrawal from the Organization of American States due to disagreements, most notably the organization’s non-recognition of President Maduro’s government, and its skepticism about his re-election as President of Venezuela in 2018.
