President Al-Assad meets with Chairman of Asian Football Confederation, talks focused on reinforcing Syria’s position on football map

Reinforcing Syria’s position on the football map and efforts to lift the ban on Syrian stadiums were the focus of discussions during President Bashar Al-Assad’s meeting today with Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, chairman of the Asian Football Confederation.

In the presence of both Firas Mualla, chairman of the General Sports Federation, and Salah al-Din Ramadan, chairman of the Syrian Football Association, Sheikh Salman spoke during the meeting about the efforts made by the Asian Football Confederation in cooperation with the Syrian side to provide logistical support to the Syrian football stadiums, and to help lift the ban imposed on them for years so far.

Sheikh Salman affirmed the AFC’s readiness to provide all kinds of support to the Syrian teams, including logistical support, through the funds available to the federation, which are owned by the Syrian Football Association.

At the end of the meeting, the AFC chairman expressed his thanks and appreciation to President Al-Assad for his his constant interest in advancing the future of Syrian sports.
