DAMASCUS,(ST)-“media ,which enjoys high performance and credibility, has a prestigious status in the receiver’s mind as it conveys events as they are placing the terrorist crimes against citizens under the microscope, “underscored Information Minister, Omran al-Zou’bi.
Al-Zou’bi’s remark came during a meeting he held on Wednesday with a Brazilian solidarity delegation currently visiting Syria.
The minister made it clear that the Syrian government has the upper hand as regards proposing a political solution and dialogue to find a way out of the crisis. But it is the armed terrorist groups which insisting on putting any political option apart..
“the world political tone has now changed remarkably as the world public opinion is now aware of the armed terrorist groups’ atrocities including the use of chemical weapons against the Syrian civilians and army, “underlined al-Zou’bi.
The minister added that despite this fact, western media outlets still pay no heed to facts rather than fabricating the events.
As for the Syrian media ,al-Zou’bi stressed that Syrian media has been facing grave challenges, lost prominent reporters ,its facilities were under sabotage plus the black out of the Syrian satellite channels by what so- called Arab League”. Anyway, Syrian has scored success in removing obstacles to convey the true image about the events unfolding on the ground.
Hence,al-Zoubi stressed that the Syrian and Arab communities abroad have an important role in divulging the lies of hostile media that seeks to mislead world public opinion.
On Geneva 2 conference, al-Zou’bi referred to the Syrian government’s consent to go to the said conference without preconditions ”and all the statements of the “opposition” abroad are but attempts to evade participation in the conference.”
”The ballot box will define the future of the country. President Bashar Al-Assad will name the Syrian delegation who will take part in the conference,”said al-Zou’bi adding that the Syrian state will remain thanks to the sacrifices of the army and people and terrorists’ attempts to subvert the state are doomed to failure.”
The delegation members, for their part, voiced solidarity with the Syrian people against barbarism and terrorism, condemning foreign intervention in the Syrian domestic affairs.
They also denounced the desecration of Muslim and Christian holy places by groups ”so detached from humanity”.
