Young Syrian woman wins the competition of Primakov Center for International Cooperation in Russia

The Syrian youth quest for knowledge to achieve their dreams and ambitions continues with the aim of making notable achievements at the world level in different domains.

After recently obtaining her PhD in the Department of Electronic Media at the Faculty of Mass Communications of Damascus University, Dr. Rula Ahmed won the competition of scientific analytical articles organized by the Primakov Center for International Cooperation in Russia.

Dr. Ahmed explained in a statement to SANA that the competition, which was announced by the center in October last year, included presenting scientific and analytical articles on Russian-Syrian relations for the students of the bachelor, master and doctoral studies.

She indicated that the competition aims to promote dialogue among young experts from Russia and Syria.

Regarding her winning article, Dr. Ahmed indicated that it focused on the humanitarian aspect of the Russian-Syrian cooperation and on the humanitarian aid provided by Moscow to Syria during the years of the terrorist war that targeted the country.

She added that the article also concentrated on how Russia managed to compensate for its distance location by sending humanitarian convoys that express the Russian people’s amity and support for the Syrian people and their right in decent life.

Dr. Ahmed said that the participating research articles were presented to specialists, and the winning articles were selected from among a number of Syrian and Russian ones, indicating that four other articles by Syrian participants also won the competition.

She stated that she is preparing to travel to Moscow to participate in the “Meeting of Experts and Specialists in Middle East Issues” event, which will be held on the 16th and 17th of May, during which the winning articles will be presented.

Dr. Ahmed highlighted that based on her winning in the competition, she will be one of the representatives of Syria in the “14th International Economic Forum (Russia-Islamic World)”, which will be held on May 18-19 in the city of Kazan, the capital of Russian Tatarstan, with the participation of 64 countries, and 59 Russian organizations.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Rula Ahmed, on the 20th of last March, obtained the first doctorate degree in Syria at the Department of Electronic Media at the Faculty of Mass Communication of Damascus University.
