Under the auspices of Minister of Culture Dr. Labbana_Mushawah and on the occasion of the International Jazz Day, Damascus_Jazz_Band, led by Professor Dulama_Shihab, was able to attract a large audience from the people of the city of Homs.
The band, consisting of forty professional and talented musicians, demonstrated its superior prowess through its poly-rhythms in absolute harmony between drums, clarinet, piano, violin, saxophone and guitar, with the participation of singers Youssef_Sharabati and Rand_Ana.
The leader of Damascus Jazz Band, Dulama Shehab said he and all the musicians were very much aware of the need to shed light on this musical genre and its role in uniting people in their various cultures by presenting pieces of music by the world’s great composers. He noted that this band is a real incubator for Syrian talents and its aim is developing their skills and their musical methods.
It is noteworthy that Damascus Jazz Band was founded in 2018 and combined the most professional jazz musicians in Syria who have participated with the Syrian Jazz Orchestra since 2005 in most of its concerts.
