107 families of the martyrs are honored on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day

On the occasion of the Martyrs’ Day, in appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifices, Damascus Governorate, in cooperation with the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Affairs in the Ministry of Defense, honored 107 families of the martyrs of the Syrian Arab Army, at the Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts in Damascus.

The honoring ceremony included an artistic display of the talents of the “Bokra Elna” project, which included theatrical performances and patriotic songs glorifying martyrdom and the martyrs.

A member of the central leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, Ammar al-Sibai, stressed in a speech on the occasion that the martyrs sacrificed their lives to make Syria a free, independent and sovereign country.

Governor of Damascus, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati, stressed that martyrdom is the noblest message a person carries when defending the homeland, pointing out that the Syrian experience in caring for the families and children of martyrs has become an example to follow. While celebrating the families of the martyrs, we must salute the Syrian mother who gave birth and raised these heroes, we must consider her as the noblest because her sacrifice and patience were one of the reasons for our victory.

In his speech, Director of the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Affairs at the Ministry of Defense Major General Bassam Al-Bari indicated that honoring the families of the martyrs is a tribute to those who gave their lives and blood in defense of the homeland, and were a role model in sacrifice, redemption and giving.

A number of families of the honored martyrs expressed their appreciation for this honor and the interest of those concerned in the affairs of the martyrs’ families and their constant follow-up to them.
