Activities of Chemical Industries Exhibition kick off with participation of more than 70 companies

With the participation of more than 70 Syrian, Arab and foreign companies, the activities of the third session of the Syrian International Exhibition for Chemical Industries “ChemExpo 2023” kicked off on Wednesday. The exhibition is being held with the support of the Ministry of Industry at the Fairgrounds in Damascus.

In addition to the Syrian companies, companies from Jordan, the UAE, Lebanon and Iran, specialized in petrochemicals, paints, cosmetics, perfumes, construction chemicals, medicines, detergents, foodstuffs and fertilizers, in addition to raw materials, semi-finished products, material production techniques, special chemical industries, production lines and laboratories, are participating in the four-day exhibition.

Assistant Minister of Industry, Engineer Asaad Warda, indicated in a statement to reporters that what distinguishes the exhibition is the diversity of local, Arab and foreign participations and their products, some of which are present for the first time in exhibitions.

He underlined the importance supporting local production and activating cooperation and exchange in the field of industry with brotherly and friendly countries in order to benefit Syria and those countries and contribute to breaking the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people.

Engineer Warda highlighted the importance of the exhibition in providing a platform for industrialists to exchange experiences and improve the quality of the Syrian product and its competitiveness locally and globally.

General manager of the organizing group of the exhibition Khalaf Mashhadani confirmed  that the exhibition provides all those interested and concerned with the chemical industries with many options of products, raw materials, machines, equipment and services, in addition to signing deals and establishing partnerships between the participating companies and with the visiting businessmen from Syria and abroad. This will be reflected positively in strengthening capabilities of chemical industries companies in the production and marketing aspects.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Chargé d’Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in Damascus, John Reese, said: During our tour of the exhibition, we noticed the economic development experienced by Syria. We are working to improve and consolidate economic relations with it, and expand and strengthen cooperation in the future in this field and others. He expressed his belief that Syria will recover and our continuation of diplomatic relations with Syria stems from our belief that Syria will restore its international status.

For his part, the Venezuelan Ambassador to Damascus, Jose Biomorji, in a similar statement, noted that this exhibition and the many participations in it are very important for a country like Syria, which is suffering from an unjust siege. This exhibition fosters the local production, meeting local needs and realizing self-sufficiency in order to export and compete in global markets.

The exhibition is accompanied by bilateral meetings between visiting businessmen and participants, in addition to introductory and scientific lectures and workshops highlighting the most important developments in a number of chemical industries.
