Foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, Turkey and Syria affirm commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and to combating terrorism

Moscow, (ST) – The press statement issued following the meeting of the foreign ministers of Syria, Russia, Turkey and Iran in Moscow on Wednesday affirmed commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and to fighting terrorism in all its forms.

The statement called for increasing international assistance to Syria in support for the reconstruction process in the country and the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

The statement said that the deputy foreign ministers of the four countries were assigned to prepare a roadmap for developing the relations between Syria and Turkey in coordination with the Defense Ministries of these countries.

The statement noted the constructive and objective discussions on the Security Council Resolution No. 2254 and the official statements in Astana formate

The statement also referred to the positive and constructive atmosphere which prevailed in the meeting and the agreement  to continue high-level contacts and the four-party technical negotiations in the coming period.
