DAMASCUS, (ST) – “Syria is committed to fulfill its obligations concerning dismantling chemical weapons while taking into account the non-politicization of the process and carrying out Syria’s obligations within a timeframe that allows for completing the process in the required manner, “underscored Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem.
Al-Moallem’s remark came during a meeting he held on Tuesday with Sigrid Kaag, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the UN special coordinator of the joint UN-OPCW mission in Syria .
Al-Moallem discussed with Kaag the current cooperation between Syria.
Kaag,for her part, said that Syria’s cooperation led to the success of the investigators and OPCW crew, and that work is ongoing with Syria and other countries to ensure the success of this mission.
