DAMASCUs, (ST)_Syria’ Permanent Representative to the UN, Bashar al-Jaafari, has said that the radicals and all parties that bet on the logic of force and aggression, especially the ‘Israeli and Saudi thinking’ were disappointed by the agreement reached between Iran and representatives of the so-called P5+1 group nations- the US, the UK, China, Russia, France, and Germany.
He underscored, in a telephone conversation with al-Manar TV channel, that the agreement consolidates the victory of the logic of dialogue and diplomacy as well as political solution over the logic of force.
On the other hand, al-Jaafari commented on some western claims about the agreement by clarifying that the agreement doesn’t consolidate the idea of preventing Iran from nuclear weapons because Iran and most Arab countries, including Syria, call for nuclear-free region.
” The Iranian stance was logical and just and has a legal basis that respects the rules of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty,” al-Jaafari said.
He called for pressing Israel to be part in making the Middle East a nuclear- free zone and to put its nuclear establishment under the International Atomic Energy Agency’s observation.
