Spokesman for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry: Respecting Syria’s sovereignty and supporting its people is in the interest of Arab stability

Baghdad (ST): Spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Al-Sahhaf affirmed that respect for Syria’s sovereignty and solidarity with its people will lead to more stability and Arab integration.

Al-Sahhaf said in a statement to Sputnik about the possibility of Syria’s return to the Arab League soon: “Iraq maintains its firm stance towards Syria, the solution of outstanding problems, respect for Syrian sovereignty, and standing and solidarity with the Syrian people will allow for more stability and Arab integration.”

Al-Sahhaf added, “This is what the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been working and calling for regarding the Syrian issue since the beginning.”
