Al-Mikdad, UN resident coordinator discuss UN activities in Syria

Damascus – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad and the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Acting Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria, El- Mostafa Benlamlih met on Thursday and discussed the UN projects implemented in the country.

The meeting was held on the occasion of the end of Benlamlih’s mission in Syria.

The two sides discussed the projects and activities carried out by the United Nations in Syria. They stressed that the joint efforts exerted to implement projects in various field have been a success.

Al-Mikdad and Benlamlih stressed that implementing early recovery projects should be achieved in the light of UN Resolution No. 2642.

Al- Mikdad hailed Benlamlih’s efforts while serving as Resident Coordinator in Damascus, wishing him success in his new duties.

For his part, Benlamlih appreciated the efforts exerted by the Syrian government and concerned authorities with the aim of facilitating his work during his tenure, especially the immediate response plan to the earthquake in Syria.
