Minister of Communications discusses with his Iranian counterpart enhancing cooperation in the field of communications and information technology

Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, discussed with the Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Issa Zarei Pur, and the accompanying delegation, ways and prospects for enhancing and developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of communications and information technology.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Khatib underlined the importance of cooperation between the two friendly countries, benefiting from Iranian experience in improving communications services in Syria, and completing the projects that the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria have impeded their implementation, especially since Iran has achieved great development in the field of communications, information technology and space technologies.

For his part, the Iranian minister reaffirmed that his country was and will remain supporting Syria in all fields to confront all problems that hinder its steadfastness and development. He indicated his country’s permanent readiness to support Syria and its people in the reconstruction phase in terms of securing communications and technology requirements in order to provide the best services and develop the communications network and achieving more cooperation in the field of space by taking advantage of the high resolution of images captured by Iranian satellites, and the information they provide in terms of agriculture, infrastructure construction, and others.
